There are 2 daily departures, divided into 2 groups:

- Transfer departure from Salta: 06:00
- Arrival at Volcán station: 08:30
Train departure from Volcán: 09:00 - End of the journey at Volcán: 19:40, followed by the return transfer to Salta.
🚆 GROUP B
- Transfer departure from Salta: 07:00
- Arrival at Volcán station: 09:30
Train departure from Volcán: 10:00 - End of the journey at Volcán: 20:40, followed by the return transfer to Salta.

Conditions and Cancellation Policies of the Solar Train of the Quebrada

Penalties are calculated based on the total ticket price and the current rate at the time of the change request.

One day before the trip: No cancellations, date changes, modifications, or refunds are allowed.
Hop-On Hop-Off Service Conditions
- Capacity and Availability: Passengers can board and disembark at all stations, but seat availability is not guaranteed at all times. In case no seats are available, passengers can travel standing.
- Last Departure: Passengers who miss the last train of the day are responsible for their return journey and its cost.
- Delays: Delays or interruptions due to force majeure or unforeseen events are not the responsibility of the Solar Train of the Quebrada Autonomous Entity.
Use of Third-Party Services
Independent third parties may offer additional products or services under their own responsibility. These are subject to the specific terms established by each provider.
Minor Policy
Children under 1 year old travel for free, without a seat assigned, and must be seated on an adult’s lap. It is mandatory to register their details to provide passenger transport insurance.
Luggage, Food, and Animal Policy
- Luggage: Allowed up to 3 kg with maximum dimensions of 45 cm x 35 cm x 25 cm. Luggage must be placed under the seat.
- Food and Drinks: Only one 500 ml water bottle is allowed. Consumption of other food or beverages is not permitted.
- Animals: Only service animals properly trained are allowed.
Accessibility for People with Disabilities
The Solar Train has 1 space for people with disabilities and 1 for their companion (if the Disability Certificate allows it). Please make a reservation 30 days in advance by sending the Disability Certificate and ID to info@dexotic.com. If you decide not to travel, please inform us to cancel the reservation and make it available for another user.

Nos tocaron dos guías en el tren muy amables y muy interesante sus explicaciones. La chica muy simpática y amorosa, nos gustó conversar con ella.
También el chófer que nos buscó en Salta, muy cordial y también muy amable. Conversamos y nos fue explicando algunas cosas de la zona en el camino, para conocer mejor ya que fue nuestra primera vez en salta y jujuy.

Estuvo excelentísimo todo.., la experiencia es realmente maravillosa.
Por otro lado Miguel chofer excelente desde que subimos a la 6 AM hasta el regreso, seguramente volveremos a contratarlos en nuestro próximo viaje, saludos

The Solar Train is a unique experience in the Quebrada, with a European-style train. The seats are new, everything is impeccably clean and well-maintained. The journey covers 42 km, from Tilcara to Volcán. In our case, we organized the trip visiting Purmamarca, Tilcara, then Maimará, and finally Tumbaya, before returning to Purmamarca. One of the great advantages is that you can get on and off the train as many times as you want during the day. Some stations have a café (like in Tumbaya), but not all of them. You can plan your visit to each station according to the train schedule. In Tilcara, we went to the Devil’s Throat (although a taxi is needed from the train). In Maimará, we marveled at the Painter’s Palette. All stations are close to the town center, except for Purmamarca, which is 3 km away and requires a taxi. The cost is 45 USD, with discounts for retirees.
Tome la opcion con traslado desde Salta Capital. Nos llevaron en una combi nueva y llegamos a la estacin Volcan desde donde tomamos el tren y pudimos subir y. bajar a nuestro gusto durante todo el dia. Luego volvimos a Salta en la misma combi desde la estacion Volcan.
Excelente!!! 50 dólares por persona para un trayecto no tan largo pero vale la pena !!!

Excelente experiencia en el tren solar, muy disfrutable! Uno de los guías Hernán un genio, brindó muchísima información con dedicación y gran conocimiento de la quebrada de humhuaca.
El Tren Solar es una experiencia única en la Quebrada, con un tren de estilo europeo. Los asientos son nuevos, todo está impecablemente limpio y bien cuidado. El recorrido abarca 42 km, desde Tilcara hasta Volcán. En nuestro caso, organizamos el viaje visitando Purmamarca, Tilcara, luego Maimará y finalmente Tumbaya, antes de regresar a Purmamarca. Una de las grandes ventajas es que puedes subir y bajar del tren tantas veces como desees durante el día. Algunas estaciones cuentan con cafetería (como en Tumbaya), pero no en todas. Puedes planificar tu visita a cada estación según los horarios del tren. En Tilcara, fuimos a la Garganta del Diablo (aunque es necesario tomar un remis desde el tren). En Maimará, nos maravillamos con la Paleta del Pintor. Todas las estaciones están cerca del centro de los pueblos, excepto Purmamarca, que está a 3 km y se necesita un remis para llegar. El costo es de 45 USD, con descuentos para jubilados.
